At Bollington Dental Practice, we restore dental implants with custom-made crowns or bridges.

While the placement of the implant posts is carried out by a trusted local implant dentist, we can often provide the restorative work in-house, ensuring your replacement teeth are functional, natural-looking, and comfortable.

The implant placement process

Assessment and planning: Your dentist and the implant dentist will evaluate your oral health and organise 3D CBCT scans to assess bone quality, position, and planning for implant placement.
Tooth extraction (if required): Any remaining damaged teeth may need to be removed before placing the implant.

Surgical placement of the implant: The titanium implant is inserted into the jawbone under local anaesthetic. Sedation can be used during the placement to make the appointment more comfortable.
Healing and osseointegration: The implant integrates with the jawbone over 3-6 months, providing a stable foundation for the crown or bridge. You may need a temporary solution for your missing teeth during this healing phase.
Restoration: Once healing is complete, we take impressions or scans, then fit a custom-made crown or bridge designed to match your natural teeth.

Caring for your implant restorations

Proper care ensures long-term success and comfort:

Brush twice daily using an electric toothbrush and non-abrasive toothpaste.
Floss or use interdental brushes around the implant to remove plaque.
Attend regular check-ups to monitor the health of the implant and surrounding gum tissue.

I am one of those people who is genuinely frightened of going to the dentists, until its absolutely necessary.I used to see Mr King at BDP, who was so good at making me feel at ease and helping me get through any dental treatment. When Mr King retired I was reluctant to return to the practice.However I started to experience pain and had to attend and have treatment. Ellie Burrows was my allocated dentist.Ellie is the most amazing dentist, she takes time to explain each procedure , giving information in a clear and concise way. I was encouraged to ask questions and to take time to think about the treatment.Ellie gives injections that can't be felt going into your gums, she uses drills ( my biggest phobia ) like feathers.I really can't recommend her highly enough, and during a root canal treatment I managed to fall asleep.I think Debbie 🤔 is Ellie's dental assistant, she was also so welcoming and professional.I can't thank them enough and would recommend them for managing my fears and insecurities, and making my visits such a positive experience.Thank you Bollington dental practice x

I lost a filling on my front tooth last evening. I rang at 8.30am today, spoke to Sarah who was lovely ( as always). Appointment for 9.40am with Ellie and dental nurse(apologies for not remembering your name). By 10am it was all fixed and replaced and I was delighted with the results. Professional, friendly and efficient. You can’t ask for more than that.

Excellent practice, knowledgable empathetic staff. Alison Clough was my dentist for more years than I care to remember! A tough act to follow .... BUT - Ellie Burrows is professional, transparent regarding treatment ahead of starting, thorough - and I have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone. Sarah, as a first point of contact, is superb - always listens, helpful, supportive - as a practice, Bollington Dental set a high bar, and I appreciate them all.

For a difficult extraction the dentist performed then analysed carefully an X ray, steering me prudently towards a specialist. She gave me a free post-extraction follow up session, with very clear and thoughtful advice on a potential implant or a dental plate. I was impressed.
